Damien Sullivan
Regional President, ACE Asia Pacific
Damien Sullivan was appointed Regional President of ACE Asia Pacific in July 2010. In this role, Mr. Sullivan is responsible for the management and development of the region’s key business lines, namely Property & Casualty, Accident and Health and Personal & Business Insurance, across Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Mr. Sullivan is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry which includes senior underwriting and management positions in Europe and Asia Pacific. For more than a decade, Mr. Sullivan was with CIGNA International, a global Property & Casualty company which ACE purchased in 1999. At CIGNA, he was posted overseas to London where he managed their Marine Underwriting and Risk Management operations in the UK, Europe, Canada and Latin America. He returned to this region in 1996 as the Vice President of Somerset Asia Pacific, before moving on to Liberty Mutual as President of their Australian Branch.
Prior to his current assignment, he had been Country President of the company’s Australia and New Zealand businesses since 2009, after serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Asia Pacific region in Singapore from 2005 to 2009. Before that, he led ACE’s Australia and New Zealand operations for three years in addition to his role as the Regional Head of Property & Casualty.
