Executive Vice President, Global Accident & Health and Life
Edward Clancy was appointed Executive Vice President, Global Accident & Health in 2007, with responsibility for the company’s personal accident and supplemental health business around the world, including the operations of Combined Insurance. In 2010 he was promoted to the expanded roles of Chairman, Life and Executive Vice President, Global Accident & Health and Life, which includes the company’s international life insurance and life reinsurance businesses.
In 2003, Mr. Clancy was appointed Division President and Chief Operating Officer of ACE Overseas General. In that capacity, he oversaw the operations of ACE's businesses in Latin America, Japan, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, including ACE Global Markets, the company's London-based international excess and surplus lines business. Mr. Clancy joined ACE as Senior Vice President, ACE International Accident & Health, in 1999. He was promoted in 2001 to Division President, ACE Global Accident & Health, in addition to having executive management responsibility for operations in Japan.
Before joining ACE, Mr. Clancy had a 20-year career with AIG. He held various underwriting and management positions within AIG Accident & Health between 1979 and 1988, when he was appointed Regional Vice President, AIG Accident & Health, UK and Ireland. He was named Senior Vice President, AIG Life, Accident & Health, North America, in 1991 and Regional Vice President, AIG Accident & Health, Far East, in 1995.
Mr. Clancy holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics from Susquehanna University.
