President, ACE USA
An insurance executive with 25 years of experience in the industry, John Lupica was appointed Chairman, Insurance – North America, in July 2011. In this role, Mr. Lupica has responsibility for ACE’s property and casualty (P&C) and accident and health (A&H) insurance businesses in the United States, Bermuda and Canada.
The businesses of the Insurance - North American segment include ACE USA, which provides a broad array of specialty P&C and A&H products and risk management services to corporate clients in the U.S. and Canada through retail brokers; ACE Westchester, which offers excess and surplus lines specialty products through wholesale brokers; Rain and Hail, a premier underwriter of crop insurance in the U.S. through independent agents; ACE Bermuda, which writes high-level excess liability, property, directors and officers and political risk coverage through large international brokers; ACE Commercial Risk Services, which offers specialty insurance products and solutions to small businesses through several distribution channels; and ACE Private Risk Services, which provides high net worth households with home, auto, valuables, umbrella and recreational marine insurance through independent agents and brokers.
Mr. Lupica also serves as President of ACE USA, a position he has held since 2006.
Mr. Lupica had been Chief Operating Officer, Insurance-North America, since 2010. Previously, he served as Division President of ACE Professional Risk and ACE USA Regional Operations. As Division President of ACE Professional Risk, Mr. Lupica had senior management responsibility for the Management Liability, Professional Liability, Programs, Surety, and Aerospace units. In 2004, Mr. Lupica assumed the additional position of Division President of ACE USA Regional Operations, responsible for driving distribution strategies with brokers on a national and regional basis, as well as expanding ACE’s product and marketing approach to local distribution sources.
Mr. Lupica joined ACE USA as Executive Vice President of Professional Risk in 2000. Prior to joining ACE, he served as Senior Vice President for Munich-American Risk Partners, Inc. He also held various management positions at AIG.
Mr. Lupica received a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
