Julie Schaekel
Chief Auditor, ACE Group
Julie Schaekel, Chief Auditor for ACE Group since 2005, heads the team responsible for all ACE internal audit functions worldwide. She is an accomplished accounting professional with an extensive background in the property-casualty insurance industry.
Ms. Schaekel joined ACE USA as Assistant Vice President, Audit, in 1998. She has since held several senior level roles including Vice President, Division Audit Director for ACE INA Holdings, Inc., from 1999 to 2002; Vice President, Finance for ACE USA, from 2002 to 2005; and Senior Vice President, Finance for ACE USA, from March 2005 to May 2005.
Julie started her audit and accounting career at AAA Hoosier Motor Club as its first internal auditor. Subsequently, she was with American States Financial Corporation, the property/casualty affiliate of Lincoln National Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1985 to 1997—where she progressed from Staff Auditor to Audit Director. Prior to ACE she served as Risk Advisor for Banc One Corporation, from 1997 to 1998.
Ms. Schaekel, a certified public accountant in the State of Indiana, holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Ball State University and has earned the CPCU designation from the American Institute of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
