Chief Culture Officer, ACE Group
Karen Sothern has been with ACE and its predecessor companies for more than 28 years. In 2012 she was appointed to her current position as Chief Culture Officer. In this role, Ms. Sothern is responsible for developing plans that address and bridge the cultural differences between ACE and the companies it acquires. She also chairs the ACE Group Culture Council which develops and oversees the implementation of initiatives to foster a culture of inclusion at ACE.
Ms. Sothern has held a variety of underwriting, business development and management positions while with the company. Prior to assuming her current position, she served as Regional Executive Officer for ACE USA’s Northeast Region, a position she held for nine years. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the M200, a global Risk Management, Insurance and Reinsurance Association and in 2006, she was named one of 50 Women to Watch by Business Insurance magazine.
Ms. Sothern is a graduate of Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Sociology.
