ACE supports the communities around the world in which our employees live and work through its established ACE Foundations and through company-sponsored volunteer initiatives.
We believe that positive contributions to the fabric of our communities return long-lasting benefits to society, our employees, and our company.
We focus our philanthropic support in the areas of education, poverty and health, and the environment. Particular consideration is given to opportunities where ACE employees' time and expertise can be utilized in addition to financial support.
The ACE Charitable Foundation supports relief, philanthropic, and educational efforts around the world outside of Bermuda by contributing both time and money to organizations and communities where ACE employees live and work. Examples include grants falling in the three designated funding areas, as well as annual employee campaigns with organizations such as United Way employee sponsorships and educational scholarships.
The ACE Foundation – International supports ACE’s employee matching gifts program. Prior to the consolidation of global charitable giving under the ACE Charitable Foundation, the ACE Foundation – International supported relief, philanthropic, and educational efforts in communities around the world outside the United States and Bermuda. Examples of such support include contributions to the China Development Research Foundation for an early childhood development, nutrition and education program that will support the well-being of expecting mothers, infants and young children.
The ACE Foundation – Bermuda concentrates its efforts where they’re needed most—at home on the island of Bermuda. Through employee matching gifts and volunteer rewards programs, educational programs and scholarships, and financial support of more than 70 registered charitable organizations per year, the ACE Foundation – Bermuda helps take care of its community.
In 2010, the ACE Foundations collectively distributed over $6 million in charitable grants to more than 75 organizations globally.
Employee Engagement
ACE encourages the development of local and regional initiatives, which reflect our employees’ commitment to the needs of the communities in which they live and work. ACE employees direct a significant portion of the company’s charitable giving.
Through our matching gift program, the ACE Foundations will match employee contributions to qualifying charitable organizations. In addition, through our employee volunteerism program, ACE contributes to any non-profit group that benefits from at least 40 hours volunteered annually by an ACE employee.
ACE Global Day of Service
On October 22, 2010, more than 7,700 of our employees from around the world came together as a global team to volunteer for local community service projects during our Global Day of Service, one of the highlights of ACE’s 25th anniversary commemoration.
