Evan Greenberg Receives Award from BritishAmerican Business
ACE Limited Chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg was presented with the Entrepreneurial Award by the BritishAmerican Business organization at its 2011 Transatlantic Business Awards event Oct. 13 in New York.
In receiving the award, Mr. Greenberg noted the proud history of entrepreneurial achievement in both the U.S. and U.K. and pointed out the current challenges to continuing it.
“Our two countries shared a history of mutual appreciation for a regulatory and government environment that fosters entrepreneurial spirit, and an environment that nurtures a market-based economy and allows companies to win or lose based on their own merits,” Mr. Greenberg observed. “Indeed, capitalism and the innovation that it produces have been the source of our prosperity.
“However, at this moment of extremely difficult economic and fiscal conditions, we face a challenge from an unrelenting assault on business by our governments,” he continued. “Our future depends upon preserving the entrepreneurial spirit that encourages innovation and helped make our nations great – the freedom to build businesses and to innovate for the benefit of society.”
