With a gross written premium base of nearly £2.2 billion in 2011, AEGL provides a range of tailored property, casualty, accident, health and specialty personal lines insurance solutions for a diverse range of clients.

Syndicate 2488, managed by ACE Underwriting Agencies Limited (AUAL) is one of the pre-eminent specialty insurers in Lloyd’s. With a gross written premium of just under £400 million in 2011 and a profit for the year of £13 million AUAL demonstrates its core principles of underwriting discipline and cost control.

ACE Europe Life Limited (AELL) started writing business in 2007 and in 2011 generated gross premiums of £19 million from its operations in the UK, Spain, Nordic region and The Netherlands

Financial Strength

The ACE Group holds financial strength ratings of AA- (Very Strong) from Standard & Poor’s and A+ from A.M. Best on ACE's core operating insurance companies. ACE European Group Limited is rated AA- (Very Strong) by Standard & Poor's and A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best.

Syndicate 2488 benefits from financial strength ratings assigned to the Lloyd's market by the various rating agencies: A+ (Strong) from Standard & Poor’s, A (Excellent) from A.M. Best and A+ (Strong) from Fitch.
