Important Safety Information: Portable Fire Extinguisher Recall and Recommended Periodic Review
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall notice for Kidde disposable plastic fire extinguishers, including 31 models with a manufacture date between July 23, 2013 through October 15, 2014, “due to failure to discharge”.
Full details and contact information can be found in this notice.
If you purchased fire extinguishers from Kidde during the time in question, we suggest that you take the appropriate action.
If this recall does not apply to your fire extinguishers, this still may be a good time to check extinguishers on your property or onboard your recreational vehicles or boats. Check the charge gauge and the needle should be in the green range indicating “good”. When in doubt, consult your local fire department or a fire extinguisher service company.
